The Panama Leaks (PL) has brought to the fore the importance of access to information in a genuine democratic dispensation.
Unfortunately, democratic regimes around the world black out people on important issues when are affected by them. They misuse the media to falsify the truth; causing doubts in the mind of people about the majestic democratic system.
Today, PL exposed the real faces of PTI chairman Imran Khan and the Godfather of Pak nuclear program AQ Khan.
Imran Khan is exposed as a double faced person: fighting corruption while corrupt at core.
AQ Khan is exposed as a person who used his power to establish nuclear network in the black market, giving bad name for Pakistan.
Democratic system needs more PL disclosures so that rotten eggs should be identified and brought to justice. This would also re-establish people’s faith in democracy, which is much powerful than the money and power of the rotten eggs.
