Americans join the chorus

Americans join the chorus
Dr. Jassim Taqui

In tandem with the Indo-Afghan accusation-cum-media war against Pakistan, the US Commander of US forces in Afghanistan Gen. John Nicolson joined the chorus in an unprecedented US war against Pakistan, a US ally in the Cold War and the Afghan Jihad. Nicolson repeated the accusations and added that Pakistan was joining Russia and Iran alliance to support Taliban and to ensure that it emerges as a legitimate Afghani force.

Most probably, Nicolson was referring to the Russian envoy Vladimir Safronkov’s General Assembly speech last September in which he called for easing UN sanctions on Taliban. Ostensibly, the Russians want Taliban to promote peace talks between the warring Afghan factions in order to find a peaceful settlement to the Afghan issue. This implies that the UN should deal with Taliban as a legitimate entity since it is legitimately confronting the US-led NATO occupation of Afghanistan( October 7, 2001, to date)  and the puppet regime in Kabul.

Moscow made no secret of its support of Taliban in view of US policy of exporting IS-Khorasan Chapter terrorism to Moscow and Central Asian Republics.

The Russian Federation stance is based on a UN document dated September 28, 2015,  according to which IS-Khorasan controls 75 percent of the 34 Afghan districts. Since the US and NATO allies have tens of bases in all 34 Afghan districts, it is presumed that the US and NATO allies are either supporting IS-Khorana’s presence in Afghanistan or looking the other way and letting them flourish unhindered and unchallenged.

Similarly, Iran is concerned over attempts by US-supported IS-Khorasan to move via Afghan Balochistan to Pakistan Balochistan in a bid to penetrate the Iranian Balochistan to destabilizing Iran through terrorist operations in coordination with Jaysh al-Adel. According to the Iranian intelligence, the latter is actively supported by CIA.

As matters stand, the US and NATO are playing a dangerous game in Afghanistan and South Asia. Supporting IS Khorasan means an attempt to spread the so-called “ creative chaos” not only to Russia and CARs but also to Pakistan and India. The US and NATO generals are naïve indeed if they think that the IS would stop in Pakistan. Its biggest catch is the resource-rich, large and diverse India.

It is unfair to accuse Pakistan of promoting war in Afghanistan. The opposite is true. It was the CIA-operated drone, which killed the peace initiative of QCC( Quadruple Coordination Committee that includes the United States, People’s Republic of China, Pakistan and Afghanistan,) which was mandated to resolving the Afghan civil War peacefully and in line with Afghan Reconciliation Initiative. This was done on May 21, 2016, when the CIA publicly declared the assassination of Taliban’s leader Mullah Akhtar Mansoor. Ironically, the CIA avoided prior to this incident to own responsibility of assassinating opponents by drones; fearing that this might be used in Interpol against the spy agency; demanding to categorize it as a rogue entity or/and involvement in war crimes.

A word about the Afghan President Ashraf Ghani. Mr. President, you are violating the basic of the basics of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan by siding with a Hindu India against a fellow brethren, Pakistan, which embraced 5 million Afghan refugees and continues even today to give shelter to 3 million despite dire economic conditions.
Mr. President, you know fully well that India and America are attempting to make Pakistan the scapegoat to cover up their failure in ensuring peace and stability in Afghanistan since the US-led NATO invasion of Afghanistan on October 7, 200, to date.

Afghanistan is living in political, economic, security and military turmoil since Abdullah Abdulla accuses you of massively rigging the April 5, 2014, elections. You agreed to share power as per US Secretary of State John Kerry mediation on July 13, 2014, but never fulfilled your commitments.

Your own army is involved in killing the US troops, which were supposed to protect; most probably to avenging NATO’s killing of the Afghan civilians. This was recognized in a sustained manner by the very Pentagon. The last of such operation is the killing of two American soldiers on November 3, 2016, which made the American fighter planes to kill 30 Afghan civilian and falsely claiming that they were Taliban.
Why would you , then, declare a war against Pakistan?
