Hussain Haqqani’s “indecent proposal”

Hussain Haqqani’s “indecent proposal”
Dr. Jassim Taqui

The former Pakistani ambassador to the United States Hussain Haqqani disgraced his name and the US puppets of the neocons when he advised the Trump administration to put Pakistan on the list of the states that sponsor terrorism on the ground that Pakistan was playing a double game with the US administration.
Haqqani repeated the old CIA claim that Pakistan continued to secretly supporting Taliban and Haqqani network; making it impossible for the United States to achieve its objective of keeping Afghanistan from reverting to a safe haven for international terrorism.
Haqqani and his neocons even urged the Trump administration to present to Pakistan a list of calibrated actions for ending its support to the Afghan Taliban and the Haqqani Network and make clear that failure to make substantial progress on these steps could eventually result in Pakistan’s designation as a State Sponsor of Terrorism.

Have you ever heard a former ambassador would stab his own country from the back in this manner? Or have you ever read that some renowned scholars would come publicly to support a person who is committing a treason against his own nation?

Ostensibly,  Haqqani is tipped to give such a statement in order to sabotage Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa’s upcoming visit to the United States, to raise the morals of Nawaz Sharif in his power struggle with the military, and to sabotage the upcoming Moscow’s  six-nation summit on securing peace in Afghanistan.

Most probably Zardari tipped Hussain Haqqani to wage a campaign against the Military Establishment. Before Haqqani’s indecent proposal, Zardari made good his escape from Pakistan to be back again in his palace in Dubai. It was Zardari who appointed Haqqani as Pakistan Ambassador to the United States. He also used him in the infamous Memo-gate scandal due to which the Supreme Court of Pakistan summoned him to face a trial on high treason charges in 2011.
