A black Day for all Muslims

Dr. Jassim Taqui

Islamabad, July 8, 2021: Soon after the US stated that 90 percent of its troops were withdrawn from Afghanistan, the Taliban and other insurgents moved to many Afghan cities in large numbers. They started an organized scheme of looting everything under the sun, attacking police headquarters, and releasing Thousands of dangerous criminals. Using loudspeakers, they urged all citizens to vacate their houses and leave.

According to one account, over 75,000 people fled their homes in the province of Badghis either to nearby districts or neighboring Herat province.

Ostensibly, the case is either similar or worse in other Afghan provinces.

Human Rights account of Taliban’s atrocities breaks your heart. The Taliban’s retaliatory attacks against civilians deemed to have supported the government is an ominous warning about the risk of future atrocities.

Since May, the Taliban have captured scores of district centers across Afghanistan, including 150 districts in Kunduz and other northern provinces. HRW said around 400 families had ended fleeing.

Many reports are speaking about the Taliban’s killing civilians and looting property. The women were treated harshly. Taliban fighters have no mercy. They forcibly pushed families out of their houses and treated them callously. They continue to do that even today.

Anarchy and lawlessness are spreading everywhere while the UN and OIC are silent.

Today is the blackest day for Muslims all over the world. They need to look deep inside and rise. Now the motto should be the help of fellow brutalized Afghans by the thugs and rogues.

It is about time that the UN takes action. The civilians and minorities need to be protected before ethnic cleansing would be initiated by heartless criminals.
