Gen. Bajwa is out

Islamabad, August
3, 2021: In yet another surprise, PM Imran Khan combined with the Minister of Planning
Assad Umar to ensure the ousting of Gen. Asim Saleem Bajwa from the post of CPEC
Authority Chairman. In his place, Khalid Mansoor was quickly appointed.
Mansoor was Hub Power Co Ltd CEO. Thus the civilians have started to
take over. All credit goes to PM Imran Khan who is the brain behind slowly
asserting the power of the civilians in a civilian setup.
The next step would be even more difficult. Bajwa would be subjected to
a thorough investigation regarding the alleged kickbacks he received from
certain Chines companies. The fact that these companies are involved in executing
infrastructure projects, points the fingers towards the CPEC.
Earlier Gen. Bajwa surprisingly served as Special Advisor to the Prime Minister(SAPM) on
information and Broadcasting. However, he resigned from the post after only 5
months. During this period, elaborate reports were published about his wealth
in Pakistan, the USA, Canada, and Pakistan. He could not answer the question:
why all of this wealth is spreading abroad and not confined to Pakistan. No
satisfactory answers were given. This prompted the PM to get rid of him.
It is presumed that the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was behind
collecting and publishing the details of his wealth while sitting in London.

You simply can’t conceal huge ill-gotten wealth. One day or another the
truth would come especially when you have adversaries sitting in London and
business lobby in Washington. Corruption will keep knocking on your door until
it is broken.
