The two faces of BLA

The two faces of BLA
Dr. Jassim Taqui

In a self- damaging statement, the chief of Baluchistan Liberation Army (BLA) Nawab Brahumdagh Bugti condemned the Pak Army and was full of praise to the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for raising the issue of the separatist BLA. Bugti went on to declare that the BLA opposed CPEC and that CPEC would be implanted only on the “dead bodies of the Baloch.”

Modi repeated many times his support for the terrorists and mercenaries in Baluchistan and openly opposed the CPEC. Evidently, the identical statements of Modi and Bugti are the outcome of a coordination between the two.

Most probably, Bugti and Modi have adopted such an extreme stance to cover-up their failure to agitate the rebels against the elected government of Baluchistan. Both have schemed to internationalize the issue in a bid to reverse the truth and give a new narrative that ensures the mobilizing of foreign powers against Pakistan.

A detailed study of the statement shows how frustrated the two are especially when the majority of the Baluchi tribes accepted the clemency announced by the Pak army and laid down their arms.
On the other hand, the RAW and rogues among the Western intelligence agencies seem to be disturbed to see that their support of BLA and other terrorists has failed.

Their game is obvious. They plan anarchy in Baluchistan to foil the CPEC. The Obama administration went to the extent of signing a defence treaty with India to impose siege against Pakistan so as to give up CPEC. However, both the civil and military leaderships remain united in owning and implementing CPEC.

However, the most outstanding consequence of the Obama administration is the decision of both the civilian government and the military establishment to sign a defence treaty with China so as to neutralize the US-India military pact.

Ostensibly, Barak Obama is putting his complete weight behinde a plan that aims at sabotaging CPEC before the US November presidential and legislative elections. Obama has virtually declared a war against Pakistan; ignoring the advice of the majority of his top politicians, the Congress and the House of Representatives who counseled a peaceful resolution of the differences with Pakistan.
